SHANKS, Alfred Fox,
October 9, 1869 - June 8, 1951

ALFRED F. SHANKS
Alfred Fox Shanks, 81, retired Marshfield insurance man and farmer,
died at 2:45 a.m. today at the home of a daughter, Mrs. van G. Todd, 1115 West Sunshine.
Mr. Shnaks, a member of Marshfield Christian church, lived in Marshfield until his retirement
about 15 years ago. For 20 years, he was president and secretary of the Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance company of Webster county.
In addition to Mrs. Todd, survivors include two sons, Laddie of 2144 North Howard
and Wilfred of Ravenden, Ark.; and another daughter, Mrs. David A. Hamilton of route 3.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Barber-Barto chapel in Marshfield with the
Rev. W. F. Winton officiating. Burial will be in Marshfield cemetery under direction of
Herman Lohmeyer.
Pallbearers will be Guy Dugan, Ney Dugan, Stanley Elmore, William Fyan,
Ellsworth Haymes and Murray Thompson. |

SHANKS, Byrdella DAVIS,
October 8, 1872 - September 26, 1945

MRS. BYRDELLA SHANKS
Mrs. Byrdella Shanks, 72, died this morning at 11:25 in Burge hospital, following a lingering illness.
She is survived by her husbnd A. F. Shanks, of the home, 2060 North Howard, two sons,
Wilfred S. Shanks, Ravenden, Ark., and Laddie W. Shanks, with the U.S. Army in the Philippines;
two daughters. Mrs. David A. Hamilton, of Springfield, and Mrs. Margaret Kadora, of Fort Bragg, N.C.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Herman Lohmeyer. |

SHANKS, Hubert (Laddie) Wallace,
September 22, 1914 - May 8, 1969

LADDIE WALLACE SHANKS
Laddie Wallace Shanks, 54, of Route 11, Glidewell, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in the Veteran's Hospital,
Kansas City, following a short illness. Mr. Shanks was an electrician and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; five sons, Sgt. David, Ft. Sill, Okla., Pvt. Pat, Ft. Leonard Wood,
Pvt. Mike, Ft. Gordon, Ga., Bennett and Jimmy of the home, seven daughters, Mrs. Ellen Brayfield, 826
North Fremont, Mrs. Bobbi Jameson, 834 North Patterson, Becky, Carmen, Terrie, Sandi and Scotti,
all of the home, and eight grandchildren.
Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Vann G. Todd, 1115 West Sunshine, and Mrs. Bennette Hamilton,
Fulton; and a brother, W.S. Shanks, of Truman, Ark.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Greenlawn. |
