DeRUNTZ, Josephine HORINE
(This was transcribed from a handwritten copy of the death notice Mrs. DeRuntz - age 88 years, 2 months, 8 days, died Saturday at 2:13 p.m. at her home 3 miles east of the the city. Mrs. DeRuntz's health was brought on from old age having been sick only a short time but grew weaker until her death. She was the grandmother of Mrs. Theordore Frossard (Salina Vogt) of this city. Mrs. Deruntz was born in Alsace, France and came to this country in 1865 and in 1892 moved to Barry County where she has since resided. She leaves these children, Mrs. Basillisa Shaub of New Albany, IN; Mrs. Harriet Hauser of St. Louis; Mrs. Emily Vogt of this city, 4 sons Lewis, Frank, John and Eugene all of St. Louis. They were all present when she died except for Mrs. Shaub and Frank who were unable to come. Mrs. DeRuntz's husband died shortly before she came to this county. The funeral was held from St. Lawrence's Catholic Church at 10 o'clock and services conducted by Rev. Father Pendergast. |
