"Studied to be a priest but at the outbreak of the Civil War, he joined a VA Cavalry Regiment in the Confederate Army. Due
to his rheumatic condition, he was furloughed to Richmond and later to TX to aid in purchasing supplies. In 1863, he was
ordered to report to General Holmes at Little Rock and was sent to Magnolia, AR to take charge of depot supplies until the
end of the war. Daniel was educated at Holy Cross College

the age of two with her mother, brothers, and sisters. They were met by her father who had come to America three years earlier
to make a home. They landed in New York City and settled in the Ithaca, NY area. She stayed there until her father passed and
then moved to St. Louis, MO at the age of 16 and lived there for two years. She went to Monett to visit her sister, Mrs. Owen
Murray and while there met and married Henry Wimsatt.

the Army in 1940 and served as a Sergeant with the 7th Infantry, 3rd Division during the European Campaign of WWII.
He was killed by mortar fire at the Crossing of the Volturno River, about 20 miles north of Naples, Italy. He was posthumously
awarded the Purple Heart.
